EXHIBITED: flux factory, new york, new york, 2015
medium: kinetic sculpture
This kinetic sculpture implements a closed-loop control system. A micro controller, servo motor and accelerometer feedback dictate the behavior of found materials, forever in an unstable equilibrium.
What happens to our relationships with objects when the hierarchy of control breaks down?
This work examines questions of stability and control, evoking empathy through animacy at a human scale.
