I've been thinking recently of collaborative work from the past that has never been shown outside of the classroom. Two of my favorites are the Quirky project with Cho-Tao Huang and Teeth Cake Theatre with Vivian Charlesworth. These videos bring back fond memories of 2014!
Quirky Introduction from Cho-Tao, Huang on Vimeo.
"To prepare for a future filled with robots and intelligent machines, the Quirky system allows us to practice and reinforce healthy lifelong relationships with others."
Teeth Cake Theatre from Vivian Charlesworth on Vimeo.
The Teeth Cake Theatre is a vertical travel case with tiny rooms inside. Each room is sequenced with an Arduino to play an audio clip and turn on lighting at a given moment in time. We made the rooms from dollhouse parts and 3d printed objects. The biggest room is a mechanical theater inhabited by a maker. In the first scene he enters the room to address his work bench.
